The River is a Christian church from the Lutheran tradition that worships in a quiet, reverent, and meaningful way.  Worshippers sit together at round tables and sip fresh Starbucks coffee. Time is provided to really reflect on the Scriptures and to let God work individually within each person. The music is contemporary and easy to sing. There is classic art and flickering candlelight to help worshippers focus on God.  Clear and simple instructions are provided. Communion is celebrated “family style” every week.  Sermons are relevant and share who God is and how God works in our lives and world. Click on any of the pictures below for a larger version.

Location
The River worships Sundays at 10:30 a.m. at Mill Springs Academy, 13660 New Providence Rd, Alpharetta, 30004. It is in the first building on the left, which is called the "Upper/Communication Arts Building". Click here for directions. Another church meets on campus, in the third building on the left.

Music

Songs range from the softer side of Contemporary Christian to a "Contemplative" style.   Here are clips of some of our worship songs. These clips are from CD's available on amazon.com.

Lunch

Every week, everyone is invited to stay for a free lunch. It is a great way to connect with people and start making friends. There is no agenda and no program. Enjoy your meal and meet others wading in The River.

Attire

Dress is casual. Yep...that pretty much says it all....

Attenders

Everyone is welcome, and people of all ages and religious backgrounds (including none) attend. Everyone can participate fully, including receiving communion if they wish. We are all equal in the eyes of God.
