Wade Deeper into the Presence of God
The River Church journeys to experience and share abundant life three ways: Up, Out, and In. To find out when each of these takes place, please visit our calendar page.
Worship is the primary way to explore The River. Rather than worshipping in a public, "formal" setting, The River worships in a "family" atmosphere that feels more like Starbucks than an auditorium. We sit around small tables drinking coffee as we bask in the presence of our loving God. Sermons are conversational and relevant. There are snacks every week after worship. Service First is the first weekend of every month. On that weekend, our entire church goes out and does a service project for people in our local community.
Second Sundays are community meals that feel like family cookouts. The entire church gathers the second Sunday of every month to enjoy one another's company in a casual, comfortable setting.
7 Bridges to Recovery Goes to visit “the last, the least and the lost”— the homeless on the streets of Atlanta. We partner with 7 Bridges to Recovery and go every other Wednesday at 4:45 p.m.
Young Adult Community meets every other week to enjoy each other's company, share a meal and discuss a book. They will travel to Africa on a mission trip in 2012. Visit their Facebook page here.
Beer and Bible is gathers every other Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Taco Mac at the corner of Windward Parkway and Highway 9. It is an open conversation about God, faith, life and beer.
Abbendingo Praise Band jams every week and anyone is invited to come and play or sing the music we will sing in worship the next day. Anyone who comes to jam is welcome to play or sing the next day in worship, but does not have to. Jam is every Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
The Prayer Team shares abundant life by praying for others and experiences it by gathering together to pray and learn more about prayer.
