Wade Deeper into the Presence of God

Adult Ministries

The River Church journeys to experience and share abundant life three ways: Up, Out, and In. This page describes how you can Explore, Engage and Be Equipped and Empowered on that journey. New Missional Communities and Small Groups will be forming.

"Up": explore abundant life

Worship is the primary way to explore The River. Click here for our worship page. There are snacks every week after worship so you can start making friends.  On the second Sunday of every month there is a Social Lunch after worship.  There is no cost, agenda or program. It is a chance for you to explore The River by getting to know some folks in a casual, comfortable way.

Beer and Bible is for adults every other Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Taco Mac at the corner of Windward Parkway and Highway 9. It is an open conversation about God, faith, life and beer.

The Bridge is for when you are ready to make The River Church your church.  This six week bible study will help you discover what Missional Community is right for you. That may include starting a new one! Sundays at 11:45 a.m. starting June 6.

"out": Engage in Missional community

7 Bridges to Recovery Goes to visit “the last, the least and the lost”— the homeless on the streets of Atlanta. We partner with 7 Bridges to Recovery and go every other Wednesday at 4:45 p.m.

The Prayer Team shares abundant life by praying for others and experiences it by gathering together to pray and learn more about prayer.

Abbendingo Praise Band is a Missional Community focused on helping people enter into the presence of God through music. They play in worship every Sunday, at fund raisers, and as part of events such as retreats. Practice is every Saturday at 5:00 p.m.

"In": Be empowered and equipped in a small group

A Women's Small Group meets every Tuesday 7:00 p.m.  They are empowered and equipped through a book study.

Via de Christo weekends are a powerful three day spiritual experience. Participants deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and gain a deeper understanding of their connection to God and the world. The Men's weekend is August 26-29, and the Women's weekend is September 9-12. Click here to download an application packet.

More small groups will be forming!
