When is worship?

Sunday at 10:30 a.m at Mill Springs Academy, 13660 New Providence Rd. in Alpharetta. Visit the worship page for directions and more info.

What do you have for children and teens?

Do you have Sunday School? 

On Sundays, Children learn and grow in Children's Church, which is an environment in which children to learn and grow in faith. Adults learn by listening to Pastor Scott answer questions from a "Question Jar." Anyone can put a question in, and Pastor Scott pulls two out each Sunday in worship and spontaneously answers them.

During the week, we encourage people of all ages to grow in faith in groups called Clusters.  

Do you plan to build a building?

Yes! The plan is to build on 4.6 acres on the southwest corner of Freemanville Rd and Providence Rd. However, the reality is that it will likely be 5+ years before a building goes up. Click here to see an aerial photo of the property.

I like my current church- do I have to leave it to join The River? 

Absolutely not. For one, The River does not have members, so no one can 'join' like they usually join a church. For another, the goal is to help meet whatever spiritual needs you have without creating new ones. If you find community here and somewhere else at the same time, great! We are happy to help however we can.

Are you part of a denomination?

The River is sponsored by the ELCA- Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. However, The River does not require anyone to subscribe to a set of beliefs. We also differ from other Lutheran churches in many ways, including worship. Many Lutherans would not recognize it as a Lutheran church. That is good, because The River is for everyone!
