Wade Deeper into the Presence of God
God's abundant life is for children too! The River has many different ways for children to journey to experience and share abundant life through our Up, Out, and In approach.
Children's Church: This is a learning environment for children roughly ages 4-11 that includes songs, bible stories, and activities. Children join their families for the opening of worship. While the adults are hearing the Sermon, the Children's Church staff take them to a separate room so they can grow in faith in a way that works for them. They return to their families before worship ends.
Family Cluster: This cluster is for families with young children (i.e. not yet teenagers). It is a gathering where parents and children serve others in meaningful ways that are appropriate for young children. Gathers once a month on the fourth Sunday of the month.
Nooma Night for Teens: Teens connect with other teens and adult mentors on biweekly Nooma Nights where they watch and discuss a spiritual video and on service projects where they don't just learn the bible, they live it. Gathers on the second and fourth Sunday nights of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Teens are also invited to participate in our Praise Band, which you can read about under Adult Ministries.
Unlike with adults, small groups for teens take place on trips where they can go away with other teens for a short amount of time and have a short, extremely intense experience. Teens seem to like extreme.
AFFIRM AFFIRM is an amazing, transformational week of faith, fellowship and friends. It has been changing lives for over 40 year. AFFIRM is being held at Berry College in Mount Berry, GA. It begins on Sunday June 20 and ends Friday June 25. It is open to anyone who has completed grades 6-12. Registration is now open! You can read all about it and register online here. If you are going, send Pastor Scott a quick email so he can arrange carpooling.
TEC Teens Encounter Christ weekends take place over the Labor Day and Martin Luther King, Jr. three day weekends. Teens go away to a camp in Dahlonega for a long weekend experience with God that will change their life by experiencing and sharing abundant life and, most importantly, how to keep that abundant life flowing when they leave. Go here to read more and register for TEC.
