Wade Deeper into the Presence of God
God's abundant life is for children too! The River has many different ways for children to journey to experience and share abundant life through our Up, Out, and In approach.
Children's Church: This is a learning environment for children roughly ages 4-11 that includes songs, bible stories, and activities. Children join their families for the opening of worship. While the adults are hearing the Sermon, the Children's Church staff take them to a separate room so they can grow in faith in a way that works for them. They return to their families before worship ends.
Teens are also invited to participate in the Abbendingo Praise Band, which you can read about under Adult Ministries.
Service First, the monthly service project, is for all ages. Children and teens serve alongside adults so they can find their own mentors and learn by watching them even as they themselves serve.
Second Sunday, the monthly cookout, is for all ages. Children and teens get to know each other and adults they connect with in an atmosphere that feels like an extended family dinner.
Because teens have unique needs, they also need their own ways to experience Up, Out and In.
Nooma Night for Teens: Teens connect with other teens and adult mentors on biweekly Nooma Nights where they watch and discuss a spiritual video and on service projects where they don't just learn the bible, they live it. Gathers on the second and fourth Sunday nights of each month at 7:00 p.m.
