Every family has unique needs. The River gives children and families space to find what works for them. Sunday worship has several options, and there are a variety of Clusters for children of all ages. 

Both approaches reflect our focus on faith formation, which includes but is not limited to faith information. We help children encounter God and discover a faith that includes biblical learning, prayer, and service to others. We do that by helping them find meaningful faith relationships with adults and other children that will last their entire lives and beyond.

Children's Programs

• Children's Church: This is a learning environment for children roughly ages 3-11 that includes songs, bible stories, and activities. Children join their families for the opening of worship. While the adults are hearing the Sermon, the Children’s Church staff  take them to a separate room so they too can grow in faith.  They return to their families before worship ends.
• Teen Cluster: Teens connect with other teens, as well as adult mentors and Georgia Tech students, on service projects where they don't just learn the bible, they live it. Go to the Recent News page to find out when and where.
• Middle School Cluster:  Middle schoolers connect with others their age, as well as adult mentors. This Cluster is still in the planning stages, and we hope to get it off the ground before too awful long.
• Family Cluster: This cluster is for families with young children (i.e. not yet teenagers). It is a gathering where parents and children alike can enjoy themselves, help someone out and find people they connect with in a 'cookout' type atmosphere. Go to the Recent News page for when and where.

During Worship 

Families sit together at round tables and participate in worship together. They bless each other and give each other communion. The free lunch afterwards gives families a chance to spend time together or with other families.

Families with toddlers may utilize the Toddler Area in the main worship room, where toddlers can play during worship. Older children start in worship and may either stay the entire time or go to a separate room for Children’s Church. A free, professionally staffed nursery is also available. It's up to you! 

Clusters

Clustersare a great way for children and teens to journey in faith. They provide  the opportunity for children to form extended-family type relationships. In Clusters, faith is caught rather than taught. Read more about Clusters here.
